A bit of late news plus Ascot 30/04 Selections

The Late News


As mentioned on the last post there was a bit of news to come - well that has happened with the sale and me leaving Perth Turf Talk which happened shortly after the Easter Weekend.


There was no real reason for me to sell this site however an offer presented itself and after some reflection I decided the time was right to move on. I have no doubt the site is good for racing and the new owners are probably a lot better equipped to take it to the next level, some positive changes already appear to be happening. I have made a personal decision to give the forum a break for a few months but do plan on coming back at some stage and no doubt will be dropping in for a read every now and then.


I have had a few emails and phone calls from people thanking for my time at PTT and those certainly been appreciated. There have also been some enquiries with possible work related situations and a few new projects may be in the offing soon.

Ascot Selections


With no PTT website I will be now posting a lot of my tips and racing related content here - hopefully we can get some winners.


Todays Ascot meeting is the last for the season and looking back it has been relatively profitable and certainly enjoyable. The track has raced well and the weather has been literally perfect which is about all you can ask for as a punter and racegoer.


With the transition to Belmont next week I have no doubt many trainers have held back gallopers which is why we have some small fields for today. There will be a lot of short priced favorites and whilst I have also tipped many of them I won't necessarily be backing all of them - value is the key to successful punting so be cautious and realistic about what price you are willing to take.


It has been musical saddles for todays meeting with Alan Kennedy, Ben Kennedy and Clint Harvey either being suspended or stood down by stewards in recent days. I advise punters to check the TAB for all the Jockey Changes if you have a hoop you like to follow.
