Belmont Review 11th May

One of those rare days where you seem to make the right decisions within races and keeps the confidence going with your punting methods / theories of looking for value within your rated prices.

Although I only managed only one on top winner for the day - there was some good value to be found with a number of other winners especially in the two races where I highlighted horses who looked to be under the odds in Andrackze (race3) and Izademon (race5).

Both those horses where coming in with good form but faced tougher fields - both were heavily tipped in media circles which probably helped bookies open them a short quote. Surprisingly Catch Dat Kat (race8) who also came into today with good form (2 handy wins) was not so heavily tipped and paid quite reasonable at $7.50 in comparison. The horse was drawn a bit wide but over the 1000m only had the one bend to get around and won very impressively again.

One of the other most impressive winners on the card was Desire Path in race 7. I would be keeping this horse safe in calculations regardless of grade next start as it did it very easily today. It looks to be improving with each run as it did a bit wrong but was still good enough to score at York, today was much tougher but it certainly improved its racing manners and that translated into a polished performance - further improvement is not out of the question

The Jockey Challenge results for today was :

Staeck - 7
Turner - 5
Any Other - 5
Pike - 4
Knuckey - 3
Diener - 2
Yuill - 2
B Kennedy - 1

It was pleasing to get a winning result up today with our modest $16 on Staeck but at nice odds of $31 translating into a good collect.

Boosts the Bank to $1,356 and into profit

Hopefully we can continue to build on that over the coming weeks and months.

Another big card of racing at Northam tomorrow which I am just about to get stuck into.
