Northam Selections 26th May

Well it was a tough day yesterday at Belmont - despite finding a couple of on top winners I walked away with a losing day. Must make special mention to always check what you are doing when placing bets or doing calculations which involve betting- will elaborate more on this in the Jocks Challenge.

However back to Northam today and there looks to be a few standouts on this card - hopefully they are at bettable odds.

Back to yesterday and O'Donnell was the winner with just 6 points, he got home from a host of others on 4 and 5 despite falling off his best ride in Goose in race 7.

On the bets I placed yesterday I lost $37 however about half way through the meeting I was wondering why I would have a losing result because under the Kelly system with mutually exclusive events any bets should always result in a profit. When I got home I instantly gave myself an upper-cut as my software program had been checked on independent events and not mutuall exclusive which is the reason why the bet was so small. There is nothing worse than making an error that costs you money and after re-calculating with the right settings it has cost me around $250 - but we will just have to wear that on the chin and push on.

Using my new bank of $2274 and looking at available prices these are todays bets :

W Pike $393 @ $6 - profit $1765 if successful
T Turner $121 @ $9 - profit $496
Any Other $79 @ $13 - profit $434

After backing Paul Harvey as my main result yesterday hoping he won't upset me today but he is unders at $2.50

GOOD PUNTING
